But every once in a while something happens to wake our collective conscience from its disinterested slumber, and we find ourselves at the epicentre of major change.
It then becomes the job of the majority in a democracy to demand accountability.
The power of this unity, is a real marvel…a force to reckon with, as long as we remember…
We are NOT required to pledge our unwavering blanket loyalty to any one side or entity. Just because we agree or sympathise with someone, does NOT make the other wrong by default, until the end of time.
Likewise, even if we don’t like somebody or disagreed with them once upon a time,
we still need to be the voice of reason, when they’re wronged against.
Every situation MUST be weighed on its own merit, independent of
pre-existent prejudice.
Do not mix issues, in the justice system of your mind.
We are not children in a playground who picked a team and now must obey our captain, even when they’re clearly at fault.
On the see-saw of playground politics…be the fulcrum!
That’s allowed! That’s required!!
We need to allow our common sense to grow up and mature above petty grudges, and lifelong cliques.
We need to see through the biased machinery that sway us in the direction they want, with tailored opinions and doctored information.
Understand the economic value of your support…to them!
Wrong is wrong and you are required to say so.
Or you are allowing yourself to become an unwilling accomplice.
In a democracy loyalty cannot, should not and must not supersede intellect and humanity!
