Choosing Wisely

Isn’t it absurd that we fear failure…
when the entire world as we know it, is in existence only because of it.
The Bhagvad Gita says, our negative karma accumulates
as a result of our mistakes.
In order to work off this negative karma we need to take life in a new form.
Therefore, every person, animal or creature only exists today, because
they failed to live a ‘perfect’ previous life.
Logically, without failure, the earth would be barren!
Why then are we so embarrassed to admit, even to ourselves,
when we are unsuccessful?
Why do we go into denial or conceal our imperfections,
though we are only human?
Why do we see our inadequacies as
a sign of weakness and hesitate to reach out for help?
Had Arjuna not turned to Krishna, all would be lost.
Seeking advice does not indicate a lack of intellect.
Quite the opposite in fact!
The real test of intelligence comes in choosing the right person to be our guide.
Whom do we turn to in our time of need?
Who substitutes as our voice of reason, our conscience,
when our own is conflicted?
Who would have our best interests at heart, without their own personal agenda?
Who would empathise with us in a difficult situation and not see us as
a source of ridicule or malicious gossip?
More often than not, we confide in those who
give us the answer that we want to hear…
the easier answer…not the correct one.
Or orchestrate their advice to manipulate us to fulfill their needs.
This is the cause of our defeat.
Needing a ‘SAARTHI’ is not the problem…choosing the right one is!
