Until then, it’s all just,
A futile chase,
An obstacled race,
A wall you face;
A stagnant pace;
The trick is to distract yourself and keep your spirits high
while you wait,
When it’s still and dark and dry.
What’s meant to be will be;
You keep doing your thing, toiling the field.
Patience and faith; hope and a prayer;
a strong moral compass and lowered expectations
are your companions on this frustrating, lonely journery
that nobody cares to see; that comes with no guarantees.
Until you finally reach your destination
where you’re applauded with labels
Of luck, miracle and overnight success.
