Life – A New Beginning

Like the calm, dark sky cradles the moon
A mother carries her baby in her womb
Then follow the months of patience and pain
And anticipation of what her life’s going to gain
Soon the hospital corridors are filled with footsteps
The father pacing, man at his vulnerable best
Then deafening cries break the silence
A pink, shrivelled baby – the proud parents
A new life is born, a new person created
A gift of nature for those months they waited
A child who they can call their own
A child, who will bring joy and love to their home
Soon the house will be filled with sounds galore
With gurgles and footsteps and chuckles and more
And as the years go by with their love and their support
A new human would emerge to be their strength and their hope
This beautiful vision, this family’s dream
Was interrupted by visitors – society intervenes!!
